Tuathla, from our Active Kids course, gave us her delicious brown soda bread recipe. It's perfect for morning toast, lunchtime sandwiches, with a bowl of soup, or as a nutritious snack between meals.
Ingredients
Wholemeal Flour 625 g
White Flour 568 g
Wheatgerm 57 g
Pinhead Oats 170 g
Sugar 40 g
Baking Soda 20 g
Bextartar 20 g
Salt 5 g
Eggs 100 g
Buttermilk 1000 ml
Vegetable Oil 20 ml
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
2. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
3. Pour the mix into two separate bread tins and place in the oven.
4. Bake for 60-75 minutes. When poked with a knife, it should come out clean.
5. Allow to cool for 10 minutes after cooking and serve.
