Trigger Point Dry Needling Therapy
Do you suffer from:
- Upper and lower back pain/sciatica
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Tendonitis and frozen shoulder
- Sports injuries
- Pain and dysfunction associated with conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, degenerative discs, hypermobility, etc
These conditions may be related to myofascial trigger points. These trigger points cause pain, tingling, burning, weakness and other uncomfortable symptoms and have a particular property called referred pain, which means they cause pain both locally and in other areas of the body. Trigger Point Dry Needling is a manual technique that is used to treat myofascial pain and eliminate trigger points from muscles. It has been evidenced as one of the most effective methods in removing these painful points, with results often more permanent than other manual therapies. In practice, prior to insertion, the trigger point is located by palpating the muscle. Once the needle is inserted into the trigger point, the muscle "twitches". Occassionally these so-called local twitches may be mildly uncomfortable but represent a signal that the trigger point has been eliminated, the first step in breaking the pain cycle.
